Aston Villa boss Unai Emery storms down the tunnel after last-gasp Man United equaliser
Yahoo Sports

Aston Villa boss Unai Emery appeared to storm off down the tunnel in apparent frustration after Manchester United grabbed a last-gasp equaliser against his side to seal a remarkable 4-4 draw in one of the most chaotic Premier League games of the season.
United looked finished as they trailed 4-2 in the second minute of injury-time at Old Trafford before Joshua Zirkzee gave them a sliver of hope by pulling one back and Patrick Dorgu headed home an incredible equaliser in the 96th minute.
That proved to be the final straw for Emery, who immediately stormed off down the tunnel without even waiting for the VAR check confirming the goal and before the full-time whistle blew, meaning he wasn’t able to shake hands with under-fire United boss Michael Carrick at the end of the match.
Emery had already watched his side squander a 2-0 lead after the perfect start for the visiting Villans, with Alysson and Nicolas Jackson both finding the net inside the first five minutes.
That advantage didn’t last long as Matheus Cunha was fouled in the box by Boubacar Kamara and Bruno Fernandes stepped up to pull one back, sparking a period of constant pressure that continued until Youri Tielemans scored his first United goal to equalise against his former club before half-time.
Yet the hosts unravelled again however, as Villa scored twice in seven minutes after the restart, with John McGinn netting from the penalty spot after Diogo Dalot fouled Alysson and Leon Goretzka tapping in after more woeful defending from United.
At that point, Emery must have assumed his team would get over the line but they collapsed again with Zirkzee first pulling one back in the 92nd minute before Dorgu rose highest on 96 minutes to head into an empty net after Villa goalkeeper Zion Suzuki came off his line and failed to get the ball.
That result – combined with their incredible comeback victory against Roma in midweek – may just have saved Carrick’s job, although his United side still head into this international break in the Premier League’s bottom three, lying 18th in the table.
Meanwhile, Villa’s rollercoaster start to the campaign means they are in 10th, although if they had held on for victory, they would have moved up to eighth.
