Two Milwaukee Brewers players are finalists for Gold Glove awards in 2026: Second baseman Brice Turang and left fielder Jackson Chourio.
Rawlings, which presents the annual high-profile awards for top defenders, unveiled their three possibilities at each position Oct. 14.
Chourio, a first-time finalist, joined Ian Happ of the Chicago Cubs and Daylen Lile of the Washington Nationals as finalists in the National League in left field.
Turang, who won the Platinum Glove in 2024 acknowledging the best defender in the NL regardless of position, is joined as a finalist at second base by Brandon Lowe of the Pittsburgh Pirates and JJ Wetherholt of the St. Louis Cardinals.
Turang was a finalist last year, though the award went to Nico Hoerner of the Cubs.
Wetherholt leads second basemen and is actually second in baseball across positions in Outs Above Average, recorded by Statcast . Turang is 10th and second among NL second basemen, with 16 OAA vs. Wetherholt's measure of 25.
But in Defensive Runs Saved, Turang is the one who's second across baseball with a mark of 23, with Wetherholt at 13.
Turang and right fielder Sal Frelick both won Gold Gloves in 2024; before that, the last Brewer to win the award was Lorenzo Cain in 2019. Before that, it was Carlos Gómez in 2013, the first Brewers winner since 1982. If Turang wins, he'd become the third multiple-time winner in Brewers history, joining George Scott (five Gold Gloves) and Cecil Cooper (two), both first basemen.
Among left fielders, Chourio is tops in the National League in OAA (6 outs above average) and DRS (13).
Former Brewers third baseman Caleb Durbin, traded to the Boston Red Sox in the offseason, is a finalist at his position in the American League, alongside the Minnesota Twins' Brooks Lee and the Kansas City Royals' Nick Loftin.
