Cris Collinsworth and Mike Tirico hilariously enjoy massive tush push moment
Yahoo Sports

People love to give Cris Collinsworth a hard time but it seems abundantly clear that he is the best game analyst for NFL broadcasts right now. And a decent argument that he’s been atop the field for many, many years could be made.
It’s just more fun for some to complain about his folksy “aww shucks” style and penchant for being overly complimentary instead of appropriately critical. With Patrick Mahomes’ Kansas City Chiefs appearing on NBC’s Sunday Night Footbal l , it gave the longtime commentator yet another chance to gush about the quarterback’s ability.

The good news for those who don’t care for that style of content is that Collinsworth was afforded very few windows to sing Mahomes’ praises. Losing 20-3 with an offense that looks anemic will do that. Mahomes—and we don’t say this lightly—looked genuinely confused and incapable of solving Mike Macdonald’s riddle.
‘SNF’ comical moment
That doesn’t mean Collinsworth didn’t find a way to be entertaining. In fact, he came out of the gates hot after the Seattle Seahawks successfully employed a tush push to keep their first possession of the game alive.
The Seahawks employed their short-yardage method using tight A.J. Barner to plunge into the pile and pick up the requisite yardage.
Impressed by the amount of sheer beef on the field for the specialized package, Collinsworth observed the following:
“So you’ve got the most massive tushes of pushes that you could possibly have, and it works,” he said.
Without missing a beat, Tirico fired back with a solid, G-rated response to the bait.
“I’d like to ask you to repeat that, but I want to keep you working here the rest of the night,” the play-by-play voice said. “It’s only the first quarter.”
Light innuendo is actually as good as a network television broadcast of a sporting event can do for comedy, so please give this a big charity laugh. At least admit that when announcers say something like this, it is 300 times more funny than when some guy takes his shirt off. Sure, it would be better if there was a more cerebral option to make us giggle but sports fans have to take what they can get.
It’s called the tush push so these guys are going to talk about fannies. Take what you can get.
