Houston Texans key play: Overtime failures set up eventual demise vs. New York Giants
Yahoo Sports

Each week, we take a closer look at arguably the biggest play from the Houston Texans ' game. Here's what we viewed as the turning point from Sunday's 27-21 overtime loss to the New York Giants at Reliant Stadium.
The situation: Texans' ball, first-and-10 at Houston 20-yard line.
The score: Texans 21, Giants 21
Time remaining: 10 minutes in overtime.
The sequence: After driving for the tying TD late in regulation, the Texans got the ball first in OT. But there was no carryover success. An uninspiring series of plays included a run for no gain, a pass that was almost intercepted and another incompletion with a holding penalty, to boot. The Giants promptly got the ball back needing just a field goal to win.
The aftermath: New York needed just three plays to score. Cam Skattebo rumbled for 42 yards to the Texans' 30 on New York's second play. On the next play, ex-Texan Devin Singletary applied the hammer with a walk-off TD run.
What might've been: All the Texans needed to do was get to the Giants' 40 to put the strong-legged Ka'imi Fairbairn in field-goal range. That would've put pressure on the Giants, whose kicker Dominic Zvada had already missed two kicks and seemed far from automatic in OT. Instead, the worst-case scenario unfolded for Houston.
