Spurs' Victor Wembanyama reveals lesson learned from NBA Finals experience
Yahoo Sports

San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama learned a valuable lesson during his first NBA Finals appearance: Winning doesn't require being overly physical with opponents.
In a new teaser for his upcoming "60 Minutes" interview, Wembanyama reflected on his aggressive play during last season's playoff run, when the Spurs reached the NBA Finals against the New York Knicks.
"It showed my limits more than anything else," Wembanyama told CBS correspondent Jon Wertheim. "Going out there, you need to play basketball. You don't need to beat the (expletive) out of people if you want to win, at least."

Wembanyama's comments come after several controversial encounters during the playoffs, including an ejection for elbowing now former Minnesota Timberwolves forward Naz Reid in the neck and an incident in which he shoved Knicks guard Jalen Brunson in the face while setting a screen.
Those incidents contributed to Wembanyama's portrayal as a villain during the Finals, something Wertheim asked whether he found bothersome.
"No, it didn't, because I'm not paying attention to this during the Finals," Wembanyama said. "I don't think any player on either team really is."
The full interview is scheduled to air Sunday, Nov. 1, on CBS and Paramount+.
