Chiefs Make Roster Decision After 2 Straight Losses

The Kansas City Chiefs are on a two-game skid and decided to make a roster move on Wednesday. It came after hosting nine players across three positions during practice. They are coming off a 28-24 defeat to the Denver Broncos in Week 9 a Mile High Stadium. The team started the season with 5-0 and appeared to be back to its dominant ways. However, things have not gone according to plan in the last two weeks, with several roster holes exposed. Kansas City is aiming to bounce back strong after finishing last year with a 6-11 record and missing the playoffs for the first time in the Patrick Mahomes QB1 era. Several analysts believe that the team will make a move for a wide receiver ahead of Tuesday’s trade deadline. There are some capable wideouts reportedly available, but the franchise is already planning ahead with their roster decision on Wednesday. Chiefs Announce Roster Move Amid 2-Game Skid Kansas City announced that it signed Jacob De Jesus to its practice squad. He reunites with the franchise that signed him in May as an undrafted free agent. However, the team waived him on Aug, 30 as part of the final roster cuts. De Jesus started his collegiate career Modest Junior College from 2021 to 2022 before joining the UNLV Rebels for two years. He decided to enter the transfer and spend his final season with the California Golden Bears. He enjoyed a strong 2025 campaign, earning first-team All-ACC honors by recording 108 receptions for 1,030 yards and six touchdowns in 13 games. The 24-year-old’s signing can be considered an insurance move. Kansas City could be busy heading to the trade deadline, but if it can’t land a wide receiver, it still has De Jesus available. He may just need a chance to prove himself; however, he needs to impress in practices first.
