Clemson guard Elyjah Thurmon to be carted off after taking hit to head vs Florida State

TALLAHASSEE, FL — Clemson football starting left guard Elyjah Thurmon has been carted off against Florida State on Oct. 31. The Tigers and Seminoles are tied at 10-10 with 9:49 in the second quarter. Thurmon was injured on a run play on first-and-20. Thurmon entered a pile of players to help running back Jarvis Green gain more yards and took a hit to the head from a Florida State defender. Thurmon moved his arm briefly while trainers looked at him. This is the second time Thurmon has been injured this season (Sept. 25 against California). Clemson has listed sophomore Gavin Blanchard as its backup left guard. Nick Coppola covers Clemson athletics for The Greenville News and the USA Today Network.
