Northamptonshire all-rounder Kimber extends deal
Northamptonshire all-rounder Louis Kimber has signed a one-year contract extension that will keep him with the county until the end of the 2028 season. The 29-year-old joined the club from Leicestershire last year and played 17 matches across the County Championship and T20 Blast, which Northamptonshire won in July. Kimber hit a best of 66 in Northants' win at Gloucestershire in May and has scored a total of 1,685 first-class runs. "Winning the Blast was an incredible achievement, and one that has made us even hungrier for success," Kimber told the club's website. "I can't wait to get back to work, continue improving my game and contribute even more success for the club." Kimber took just one wicket and hit 175 runs in his first season with Northants but head coach Darren Lehmann believes more is to come. "Louis maybe didn't have the season he'd have liked this year, but I believe he is a player that can make a big contribution to the side," Lehmann said. "I'm really looking forward to seeing Louis showcase what he can do next year."
