Patriots rule out two key offensive players vs. Dolphins
Yahoo Sports
The Miami Dolphins won’t have to face two key offensive playmakers in Sunday’s game against the New England Patriots.
Wide receiver A.J. Brown and running back TreVeyon Henderson were ruled out Saturday by the team, indicating they didn’t travel as the Patriots come down to South Florida for Sunday’s 4:25 p.m. kickoff at Hard Rock Stadium.
Brown, who was already nursing an ankle injury from early in the season, had a new knee issue pop up this week causing him to miss Thursday and Friday practices. He was labeled questionable on New England’s Friday injury report before being downgraded to out.
Brown was the Patriots’ big offseason acquisition, brought in via trade with the Philadelphia Eagles, but he is now set to miss his fifth game of the first eight for New England.
Henderson came down with an illness Thursday, causing him to miss that session and Friday drills.
The Patriots also ruled out tackle Marcus Bryant, who didn’t even have a game status designation but was receiving treatment this week on an ankle. Nonetheless, he was able to practice in full all week.
New England also has cornerback Carlton Davis III, a Miami Norland High grad, questionable with a neck injury, along with linebacker Christian Elliss, due to an ailing chest.
The Dolphins have cornerback JuJu Brents questionable as they hope he can clear concussion protocol before Sunday. Fellow cornerback Reese Taylor is also questionable as he looks to return from a quadriceps injury.
