Why FSU footbal will beat Boston College

Florida State has to treat every game like it's a must-win for the rest of the season because they have to get victories in three of their last four to make a bowl game. Up next, they hit the road to play the Boston College Eagles on Saturday, who is trying to make itself bowl eligible as well at 4-4. Being that this is a road game, and the Seminoles have lost 12 straight away from Doak Campbell Stadium, it's understandable for anyone to feel like they won't win this contest . Plus, FSU is on a three-game losing streak, which certainly shouldn't make anyone feel confident in their chances. A fourth consecutive loss is something Florida State can't afford, and they need to have a sense of urgency. Here are five reasons why they'll beat Boston College. They have to stop the bleeding As mentioned, FSU is staring at a fourth straight loss. Dropping to 3-6 will put them in a position where they'd have to run the table to make a bowl game, and they simply haven't been consistent enough this season to pull that off. Florida State has to approach this game like their season is on the line. Boston College is bad in the red zone defensively This is an area that FSU has to be good in. Boston College allows points on 90.6% of the drives that their defense faces, with 20 touchdowns and nine field goals on 32 trips in the red zone. The Seminoles' offense gets points on 87.1% of their red zone trips, making that a favorable matchup for them. They need to cash in with touchdowns whenever they get in that position. FSU's defense will limit their scoring Boston College isn't a juggernaut whatsoever when it comes to scoring on offense. They rank 111th in the nation at 21.6 points per game. The Seminoles will keep around that total or fewer on Saturday and pull out a much-needed win. Quarterback Ashton Daniels has to lean on both of them heavily, and they will rise to the occasion and make the defense of Boston College vulnerable against the run with the attention they have to pay to each. The road woes have to end at some point The last time Florida State won on the road was in November of 2023 against the Florida Gators . Eventually, there has to be a breakthrough, and with their season pretty much on the line on Saturday, it's the perfect opportunity to do so.
