Sunday's NFL Slate Could Be Huge for These 3 WRs
Yahoo Sports
Three of the NFL's top stars will have a chance to reach career milestones and set historic marks on Sunday during Week 9. Ja'Marr Chase, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, and CeeDee Lamb will look to build on the great seasons they're already having this year.
Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase leads the NFL with 60 touchdown receptions and ranks second with 563 receptions and 7,329 receiving yards since entering the NFL in 2021.
With a touchdown reception against the Atlanta Falcons in Madrid on Sunday, Chase, who has six touchdown receptions this season, can join Randy Moss as the only player with 7 touchdown receptions in each of his first six seasons.
If Chase is able to get 100 yards receiving on Sunday, he can surpass Pro Football Hall of Famer Lance Alworth (27 games) and CeeDee Lamb (27) and tie Julio Jones (28) for the fourth-most games with at least 100 receiving yards by a player under the age of 27 in NFL history, trailing only Pro Football Hall of Famer Randy Moss (38 games) and Justin Jefferson (37).
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb leads the NFL with 631 receptions since entering the league in 2020 and ranks third with 60 receptions this season. With at least 2 receptions against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, Lamb can surpass DeAndre Hopkins for the most receptions by a player before the age of 28.
Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba leads the NFL with 985 receiving yards and 9 touchdown receptions this season, including a league-high seven games with 100-or-more receiving yards. If he can get another 100 yards receiving against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, Smith-Njigba, 24, will have 19 career games with at least 100 receiving yards and could become the third player under 25 with at least 100 receiving yards in 20 games, joining Justin Jefferson and Randy Moss.
