The Patriots ’ offense had a rough first half in Miami. New England went to the locker room down 13-3 after producing just 98 total yards, and the team was also without several key pass catchers. The second half looked like a different game, largely because Drake Maye took control. Maye completed nine of 10 passes for 146 yards after halftime, throwing touchdowns to Kyle Williams and DeMario Douglas. He also ran for the go-ahead score, a two-yard keeper with 59 seconds left in the third quarter. The Patriots won 24-19. Maye Found His Groove When New England Needed It The quarterback finished 16-of-20 for 199 yards and two passing touchdowns, with a rushing score added to the line. It was his fifth consecutive game with at least three total touchdowns, an impressive run that continued even as New England’s supporting cast changed around him. Maye’s first scoring strike, a 43-yarder to Williams, cut Miami’s lead to 13-10. His short touchdown run put the Patriots in front, and his 48-yard connection with Douglas gave New England breathing room in the fourth quarter.
