The Midwestern State men's soccer team captured its sixth consecutive Lone Star Conference postseason tournament championship Saturday night, Nov. 7, defeating St. Mary's 3-1 at Stang Park in Wichita Falls, Texas.
The fourth-ranked Mustangs continued their unbeaten season with the win and added another conference championship to a dominant stretch for the program.

MSU entered the championship match with a 14-0-5 record after advancing past UT Dallas in a penalty shootout Wednesday. The Mustangs played to a 1-1 draw before goalkeeper Jake Morris made three saves in the shootout, setting up Christian Castaneda's winning penalty kick.
Saturday's championship victory was more decisive, with MSU scoring three goals against the third-seeded Rattlers.
St. Mary's Oscar Gazquez scored in the 86th minute, but the late goal wasn't enough to prevent the Mustangs from securing another conference title.
The victory extended MSU's unbeaten streak to 31 matches and improved its record to 15-0-5.
The championship also continued an impressive season for the Mustangs, who entered the tournament ranked No. 4 nationally and collected several major conference awards earlier in the week.
MSU now turns its attention to the NCAA Division II Tournament, where it will look to carry its unbeaten run into the national postseason.
