And in the process catapulted back into the No. 1 conversation. The No. 2 Bulldogs rolled to the 42-7 trouncing at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium Saturday. And put together that dominating performance on an evening No. 1 Miami went down against Notre Dame. That means the Bulldogs will reignite theories of claiming the top once again. But Stockton tossed four touchdown throws; three landing into the hands of wide receiver Talyn Taylor including the 58-yarder to spark the rout. Stockton ended his night tallying 186 yards. Taylor finished with four receptions for 140 yards and scored three times. Ethan Barbour caught the fourth touchdown throw from Stockton, which was a short three-yard connection. Meanwhile, Smart leaned into the familiar run-first identity that’s been a staple of past Bulldog teams. Running back Nate Frazier wore down Ole Miss with 107 yards on 16 carries. Finally, Smart’s area of expertise defense delivered a brilliant game plan that frustrated Ole Miss star quarterback Trinidad Chambliss , who entered this game overhearing NFL Draft buzz. But Chambliss finished 18-of-34 passing for 170 yards and never tossed one touchdown, while getting picked off once. Running back Shekai Mills-Knight prevented the shutout by scoring from eight yards out in the fourth quarter. But Georgia has potentially ended the Rebels’ pursuit of making it back to the CFP.
