‘Have no interest’ – Jaylen Brown issues stern response to Brian Scalabrine amid Celtics criticism

Jaylen Brown has been on the receiving end of multiple digs from former Boston Celtics player-turned-commentator Brian Scalabrine. Scalabrine has used his platform as the Celtics’ lead colour commentator to take shots at Jaylen Brown to try and stand up for Jayson Tatum. Tatum and Brown have been exchanging shots back and forth amid speculation about their relationship falling apart, and Scalabrine has very vocally sided with the Celtics star. Jaylen Brown admits he ‘loves’ Brian Scalabrine, but won’t allow ‘false allegations to follow’ him to Philadelphia 76ers Speaking to reporters after the Philadelphia 76ers’ win over the Indiana Pacers, Jaylen Brown was asked to respond to comments and allegations from Brian Scalabrine about the nature of his exit from the Boston Celtics. While Brown maintained that he had no problem with Scalabrine, he took umbrage at what he considered false reporting from the Celtics announcer, rejecting the notion that he demanded a trade from the Celtics. Brown said: “Yeah, I mean, I guess it is what it is. I saw that. I saw Scal made some comments. Never had any issues with Scal. I love Scal, but I guess he is doing what he has to do. I understand why he feels the need to do that. “I have no interest in letting any false allegations follow me to my next chapter here in Philadelphia. I’ve never demanded a trade, never made a list of ultimatums. None of that is true. As of now, I’m just going to stay focused on what is in front of me, here in Philadelphia. “I’ve got a tremendous opportunity and I’m looking forward to that. I’m going to just leave the questions for another time, and during the season, I’m going to just focus on what is in front of me.” Brown has every right to stand up for himself amid comments from Scalabrine and other notable Celtics figures, especially if the allegations are false. For the most part, Brown has been vocal about not wanting to sugarcoat the true nature of his relationship with Jayson Tatum, suggesting that his former All-Star teammate was relying on his PR team to clean up any stories about their falling out. Hopefully, this story can now be put to bed, as there is very little either Brown or Tatum can say to try and salvage their current situation.
