Tyson Fury sparring with Anthony Joshua’s bitter rival before grudge match

Tyson Fury is leaving no stone unturned in preparation for his long-awaited all-British showdown with Anthony Joshua. ‘The Gypsy King’ has set up camp at the Delray Boxing Club in Miami, Florida, with trainer SugarHill Steward and strength and conditioning coach Kristian Blacklock. Fury has been getting plenty of good sparring in as he ramps up preparations for the Battle of Britain on December 11 in Cardiff. Earlier this month, he drafted in Joe Joyce for some rounds. And now, he is getting some work in with highly-ranked heavyweight contender and arch-nemesis of Joshua, Jarrell Miller . Fury took to social media to upload a number of black-and-white stills of the pair exchanging leather in the gym. He captioned the post: “Great work today guys, thanks. Pack of great guys in the gym.” Miller’s history as a sparring partner for Fury Fury has used Miller as a sparring partner on multiple occasions over the years, including for his WBC heavyweight title defence against Dillian Whyte in 2021. However, the first time they sparred back in 2011, Fury claims he had to send Miller home early after decking him seven times. “I was back home in Morecambe, and I needed a sparring partner,” Fury said to The Sun. “The first person that sprang to mind was Jarrell Miller, I thought he’ll be good sparring for me. “Obviously I wasn’t a world champion at the time, he came over to Morecambe, and we sparred at a local gym. “I’m not going to go into too much detail, but I hired him for two weeks sparring, I ended up sending him back home after one day sparring. “I put him down seven times in the first spar, and I sent him home packing back to the USA.” Miller’s feud with Joshua Miller also has plenty of history with Joshua. The pair had been due to lock horns back in June 2019 at Madison Square Garden, but the fight collapsed after Miller failed three separate drug tests for GW1516, Human Growth Hormone, and EPO. Andy Ruiz Jr stepped in to replace Miller on short notice and shocked the world by knocking out AJ in the seventh round. Miller and Joshua have been embroiled in a bitter feud ever since.
