MVDs: Ole Miss Edition
Yahoo Sports

You don’t waltz into Vaught-Hemingway Stadium on a Saturday night and hand Ole Miss their first home loss since 2024 without a total team effort. Be that as it may, there were still some Georgia Bulldogs who distinguished themselves among their peers this evening. Those audacious Athenians are your MVDs, the Most Valuable ‘‘Dawgs from Georgia’s victory over Ole Miss.
Offense: Talyn Taylor. Taylor enjoyed a career night in Oxford, hauling in 4 passes for 140 yards and three touchdowns. I was encouraged that not only did he flash the field-stretching speed we’ve known about all along, but he also didn’t have any drops.
Defense:Raylen Wilson. This one was tougher. Chris Cole led the team in tackles and added a sack and a half. Rasean Dinkins had 5 tackles, a sack and fumble recovery. But Wilson’s 7 stops were a big part of the successful defensive effort. What’s more, he drew the difficult task of shadowing Trinidad Chambliss for much of the evening. And he was fantastic in that role, bottling up the former Heisman frontrunner and preventing the type of busted play magic that doomed the Dawgs last year in the Sugar Bowl.
Special Teams: Drew Miller. Kirby Smart has been irritated with the punt team’s inability to pin opposing offenses deep. Not tonight. Drew Miller punted three times, dropping one at the Ole Miss 2, the second at the Ole Miss 11, and then boomed his final punt down to the Rebel 34 for a fair catch. Really a great night in terms of field position.
As always your own nominations are welcome in the comments.
