Where to watch Manchester United vs Aston Villa plus confirmed line-ups for key clash

Michael Carrick will hope to build on Manchester United’s first win in ten games when they host Aston Villa this evening. United snapped a demoralising winless run by coming from two goals down to beat Roma in the Champions League on Tuesday. Now, the Red Devils return to top-flight action and need another big win to start moving away from the relegation zone. United, who begin the match in the bottom three following the other results in Matchweek 10, haven’t won in the top-flight since August. They now face a Villa side who are unbeaten in five Premier League games. United have not lost at home to Villa since September 2021 and Carrick needs to keep that record going if he is to keep his critics quiet. Carrick insists he is not getting carried away with United’s win over Roma. He said: “We have to do things better for longer. We have to do things better for longer periods. “When you look back at certain games, as we do, and think about what we could improve, what we need to improve on and what we’ve lacked, it’s been certain moments, little moments in games where perhaps we haven’t been quite ready. “We haven’t made good decisions, and that’s part of football. But we can do that. We can be consistent with it. “Of course, when we came in January, there were things that hadn’t been done for a while. As I’ve just said, anything’s possible, and we can win more football matches. “But we’ve got to go and earn that and show we can do it. “It’s obviously a positive reaction and it’s not like all of a sudden we’re getting carried away. “I’ve seen enough from the players. I know what we’re capable of. I’ve said it enough. I know exactly what we’re capable of, and we all do. “We’ve got to keep building on that, but it’s definitely there.”
