“He’ll Play”: Green Bay Packers Get Good News on Top CB for Week 6
Yahoo Sports

The (3-2) Green Bay Packers host the (2-3) Dallas Cowboys at Lambeau Field for Sunday Night Football. This will be Green Bay’s biggest test so far this season, as Dak Prescott is by far the best quarterback they have faced, while George Pickens and CeeDee Lamb are arguably the best wide receiver duo they have faced as well. The Packers’ pass rush needs to apply consistent pressure on Prescott, since the secondary will struggle to cover Pickens and Lamb if he has plenty of time to throw.
However, it will be even more challenging if Keisean Nixon cannot play. Nixon was added to Wednesday’s injury report with a groin injury , which caused him to miss that practice. He then upgraded to limited participation on Thursday.

During Friday’s press conference, Matt LaFleur provided a positive injury update on Keisean Nixon , as reported by Wes Hodkiewicz of the team’s website. LaFleur said Nixon will play, adding that the top cornerback told him on Wednesday he would. The top cornerback also asked him how many games he’s missed since joining Green Bay in 2022, with the answer being zero.
Could the Packers elevate a sixth-round pick
With Keisean Nixon hurt and Benjamin St-Juste likely missing his second game of the season with a hamstring injury, Domani Jackson may be elevated to the game-day roster. Jackson missed most of training camp while recovering from core muscle surgery. He struggled in the preseason finale against the Cardinals, which led to his release. The former USC and Alabama cornerback has been on the Packers’ practice squad through the first five weeks and could make his NFL debut.
Aside from Nixon, the Packers have three healthy cornerbacks on the active roster: Brandon Cisse, Carrington Valentine , and Kamal Hadden. Since Javon Bullard plays in the slot, they can get away with having two backups, though Hadden has primarily worked in the slot since recovering from a broken tibia and fibula and a dislocated ankle. However, with two corners hurt, they could use an extra one for insurance.
