Yahoo Sports
PHILADELPHIA − DeVonta Smith and Dontayvion Wicks are expected to miss their third straight game as neither wide receiver practiced this week, including on Nov. 6. The Eagles are releasing their final injury and status report later in the day as they prepare for their game Nov. 8 against the Giants . Smith has a hamstring injury that has recurred since the summer, while Wicks is dealing with an ankle injury. As for running back Saquon Barkley, he is practicing on Nov. 6 after being limited the day before. Barkley has been dealing with hamstring and back injuries that have limited his workload for the past two games. Buy Philadelphia Eagles tickets LB Jihaad Campbell (quad/hamstring) S Michael Carter (abdomen) also weren’t practicing. The Eagles (2-6) are in the midst of a six-game losing streak, their longest since the 2012 season. And they're changing quarterbacks, going with Joe Milton, whom they signed on Oct. 16 from the Dallas Cowboys' practice squad. Milton, a sixth-round pick of the Patriots in 2024, has never started in an NFL game, although he has appeared in five (one with New England in 2024 and four with Dallas last season). Eagles coach Nick Sirianni explained the decision to go with MIlton on Nov. 6. "It's a difficult thing to think through because it isn't ever just on one person," Sirianni said. "Matter of fact, I think Tanner played solid. But this is just what I felt like we needed to do right at this particular moment to give ourselves the best chance to win this weekend." Sirianni had said on Nov. 2 that "Tanner is our guy" when asked if he was considering switching QBs. On Nov. 4, he made the switch. "You look through the game like we just got off of, and then you're starting to look through the game and the game plan, and as you start to put ideas down, and things are fluid," Sirianni said. "The toughest part about this is I felt Tanner did solid. I thought he did a lot of good things, so that's always tough." Contact Martin Frank at mfrank@delawareonline.com. Follow on X @Mfranknfl.
