The most recent of these was a 2-1 defeat of Manchester City, inflicting the Blues’ first domestic loss of the campaign. Since then, the Villans have exited the Carabao Cup to Bournemouth, drawn with Fulham and lost 3-0 at Barcelona in the Champions League.
