Transfer Notebook: Saudi club will not relaunch Bruno Fernandes raid amid uncertain Man United future

Bruno Fernandes will NOT be offered a Manchester United escape by Al-Hilal, talkSPORT understands. The Saudi Pro League side were close to signing Fernandes at the start of last season before he decided to stay at Old Trafford. There have been whispers the Portuguese international would now be keen on reigniting the move to the Middle East after voicing his unhappiness at manager Michael Carrick’s tactics . But Hilal have already allocated all of their slots for overseas players after a summer spending spree that included the signings of Premier League trio Gabriel Martinelli, Ollie Watkins and Crysencio Summerville. Fernandes, 32, is into the final year of his United contract and talks over a new deal appear to have stalled . The struggling Red Devils do have the option to extend until the summer of 2028. Rookie Championship striker eyed for England squad Middlesbrough goal machine Will Lankshear is in contention for a shock England call-up. Lankshear, 21, is the Championship’s top-scorer after bagging 13 goals in as many games. England boss Thomas Tuchel is believed to be keeping a keen eye on the former Tottenham star with scouts due to attend Boro’s trip to Wrexham on Wednesday. Tuchel will name his squad for the upcoming Nations League games with Spain and Croatia on Friday. Even if that comes too soon, Lankshear has the incentive of pushing for a place at the home Euros in 2028. Boro paid £10m to sign Lankshear from Tottenham in the summer and talkSPORT have been told Spurs did NOT include a buy-back option in the deal . Wrexham contenders emerge with boss in trouble Rob Edwards is among the contenders for Wrexham if they part company with Phil Parkinson , talkSPORT understands. Parkinson is under growing pressure after the ambitious Welsh club dropped to 18th in the Championship table. Wrexham’s Hollywood owner Ryan Reynolds is expected to attend Saturday’s clash at home to Wolves ahead of the upcoming international break. Edwards has a proven track record of getting teams out of the Championship, as is Wrexham’s aim, after guiding unfancied Luton into the Premier League. The former Wales international rejected interest from Burnley last month but is ready to return to work. Other potential candidates to succeed the long-serving Parkinson include Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard . Yeboah has Premier League options in January Minnesota striker Kelvin Yeboah, nephew of Leeds cult hero Tony, is on the radar of a number of Premier League and European clubs. Yeboah has scored an impressive 18 goals for the MLS side this season and is keen on returning to Europe after previous spells at Sturm Graz and Genoa. Everton , Sunderland and Crystal Palace are all likely to be in the market for forwards when the transfer window re-opens in January.
