Evanilson ‘best Premier League player right now’ as he makes Bournemouth history

Evanilson scored in his fifth consecutive Premier League game as he gave Bournemouth an early lead against Ipswich. With just five minutes on the clock, the Brazilian pounced on a huge error from Tractor Boys goalkeeper Christian Walton to put the Cherries in front at Portman Road. Evanilson dispossessed Walton as he tried to dribble past him just yards from his goal, before rolling the ball into the empty net. It gave Bournemouth the perfect start in East Anglia, and saw the forward enter the club’s history books in the process. This was the fifth consecutive Premier League game in which Evanilson has scored – a feat no Cherries player has managed before. Evanilson hailed Bournemouth’s No.9 has been in scintillating form lately, with his run of goals seeing him notch against Chelsea , Sunderland , Manchester United and Leeds before today. His heroics have helped Marco Rose’s side to win their last three league games too, while the forward boasts nine goals and assists in his last eight games in all competitions. And Evanilson’s form was quickly hailed by talkSPORT’s Adrian Durham, who offered a huge assessment of the Cherries star. Durham proclaimed on air: “Evanilson has to be the best player in the Premier League right now!” The striker’s latest strike puts him well and truly among the top-flight’s top performers in front of goal. With five goals, Evanilson ranks joint-third in the Premier League goalscoring charts, where only Thierno Barry (6), Alexander Isak (6) and Erling Haaland (9) have scored more. Also boasting five goals is Bournemouth teammate Marcus Tavernier, with the pair’s goals proving particularly important to Bournemouth while starlet Eli Kroupi Jr has been out injured. Kroupi Jr was the Cherries top scorer last term – netting 13 goals in a stunning debut campaign – but only recently returned after missing the start of the season having undergone a foot surgery in the summer. But with both Evanilson and Tavernier coming up with goals in his absence, the Cherries have found themselves in fine form of late. Victory over Ipswich will extend their Premier League winning streak to four games, and eight straight wins in all competitions. Evanilson’s stellar form hasn’t just been helping Bournemouth pick up results domestically. With the south coast side making their European debut this year, the 27-year-old has also quickly taken to Europa League football. He boasts two goals and an assist in four games so far, helping the competition new boys to a perfect start with four wins. Evanilson found the net in Bournemouth’s 3-0 win over Sturm Graz in October, before grabbing another goal in Thursday night’s 3-1 victory at Sparta Prague.
