Fourth win in a row – girls win in Linz
Wienerroither, Grünwald, Akrap and Kobler on the scoresheet FC Blau-Weiß Linz/Kleinmünchen 0-4 FC Red Bull Salzburg Women (0-1). Goals: Wienerroither (20'), Grünwald (67'), Akrap (71 pen'), Kobler (90'+1) Our RBS women continued their excellent form, leaving no room for any doubt during their away match at the Hofmann Personal Stadion in Linz. Katja Wienerroither set the team on the path to victory with a header following a set-piece, and in the final half-hour, Julia Grünwald and her teammates extended the lead. With this emphatic 4–0 win , our side concludes its away campaign for the current calendar year on a high note. Match summary Our Salzburg girls quickly took control against the bottom-placed team. Katja Wienerroither - the only change to the starting lineup from the previous week - produced the first real threat on goal just minutes in with a clever backheel. It was also our captain who opened the scoring: Sophia Schirmbrand curled a free kick into the danger zone, where Aldina Hamzic directed the initial header towards goal. Although goalkeeper Forstner made a good save, she was left helpless against the follow-up header from point-blank range by Wienerroither (20'). Greta Spinn, who came on as an early substitute, sent an effort just wide of the far post, while Valentina Akrap fired over the bar, as our team maintained a high tempo throughout the first half. The hosts only offered their firsts sign of intent late in the half, with goalkeeper Valerie Guha comfortably gathering a long-range attempt from Schubert. The teams then headed into the break. The pattern continued after the break: although Magdalena Schwarz, Aldina Hamzic, and Valentina Illinger failed to convert several high-quality chances that could have extended the lead, it wasn't long before more goals came. Julia Grünwald capped off a solo run down the flank - covering half the length of the pitch - by dribbling past two Linz defenders and finding the back of the net to make it 2–0 (67'). Shortly after, Schwarz was brought down inside the penalty area, and Akrap confidently converted the resulting spot-kick (71'). Substitute Emelie Kobler provided the final touch, with her slightly deflected shot from distance finding its way into the Linz goal (90'+1). With this result, our team extended its winning streak, securing a fourth consecutive win. Views There was never any doubt about who would win the match. However, I’m not entirely satisfied with our first-half performance. In many situations, we were too slow, adapting too much to our opponent's pace rather than finding our own energy and proactive style of play. We addressed this clearly, and the response after the break was very positive. We were significantly more active and decisive, shaping the game exactly as we had envisioned. In the end, it’s a well-deserved 4-0 win - a result we are absolutely happy with, even though we know our standard is to remain consistent throughout the entire 90 minutes.
