Bears will work out ex-Titans DT Jordan Elliott, whom Robert Saleh advocated for

Yahoo Sports
By now, everyone knows about the tragic incident at the Tennessee Titans facility in October that led to defensive tackle Jordan Elliott's release. In the aftermath, head coach Robert Saleh was not only transparent, but he shared his feelings about Elliott as a man, as a father, and what could be next for him. While he didn’t get into the specifics of the incident, he reminded everyone that he views Elliott as a good man who, in a moment, had a terrible lapse in judgment that was more a cry for help than a criminal act, and doubled down by stating he would vouch for Elliott if any organization wanted to take a chance on the defensive tackle. Next week, he may get that chance. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), NFL Insider Jordan Schultz reports that Elliott will work out with the Chicago Bears next week. This is an interesting development, with the Bears' recent acquisition of Jeffery Simmons, who also came out in support of Elliott in the days following the incident. There is no doubt Elliott has the talent to make an impact and would be a tremendous pickup if he's worked out the personal issue that pushed him to the brink; but signing him would also come with potential fallout. Details surrounding the incident have been kept close to the vest, and an ongoing league investigation could lead to some type of suspension after Elliott clearly violated NFL rules.
