Braden Smith, Zach Edey score in double figures, exchange jerseys in Purdue reunion
Yahoo Sports
The Pacers win over the Grizzlies on Wednesday in Memphis marked a reunion of two of the most important pieces of Purdue's run to the 2024 NCAA title game.
Both Zach Edey -- the starting center on that team and the consensus national player of the year -- and point guard Braden Smith started for their respective teams on Wednesday with Smith getting his second NBA start with the Pacers. They also both scored in double figures.
Edey posted 11 points on 4 of 6 shooting, grabbed 13 rebounds and helped hold Pacers starting center Ivica Zubac to just one point in his return from an ankle sprain. Meanwhile Smith posted 10 points on 5 of 9 shooting and five assists for his second straight double-figure scoring game and helped the Pacers claim a 107-103 win.
The two former teammates exchanged jerseys after the game, a moment captured for the Pacers' social media accounts
