Brighton rise to second, but Gross insists Seagulls aren’t in the Premier League title race

Pascal Gross has insisted that Brighton are not in the Premier League title race despite climbing to second in the table.
Brighton beat Brentford 2-0 in the Premier League on Sunday, with goals from Diego Gomez and a Gross penalty securing the Seagulls three points.
Gomez's goal put Brighton in control, before a straight red card for Brentford forward Igor Thiago for violent conduct, after the Brazilian thrust an arm at Chema Andres.
The win was a sixth in seven league games for Fabian Hurzeler's side and lifts Brighton to second, above Manchester City. Hurzeler's side trail Premier League champions Arsenal by five points.
Brighton have beaten both Arsenal and Manchester City so far this season, but Gross was keen to play down talk of a title challenge.
The midfielder insisted the season was still in its 'beginning' and that noone at Brighton was getting carried away by recent results.
"No. We are not in a title race. But we have started the season really well. It's the beginning of the season," he said to Sky Sports.
"You see the Premier League, the margins, you look at the results - we are not getting carried away yet. Every game we have to suffer a lot. Sometimes it is momentum. But we are really pleased to head into the international break like this."
