Is Micah Parsons playing today for the Packers?
Yahoo Sports
All-Pro edge rusher Micah Parsons officially returned to practice this week for the first time since his season-ending knee injury last December, but his long-awaited return to the field for the Green Bay Packers is still two weeks away.
Parsons will not play on Sunday against the New England Patriots.
Parsons opened his 21-day practice window on Wednesday, Nov. 4 but remains on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list. The Packers officially ruled Parsons out of Sunday's Week 9 showdown with the Patriots on Friday's final injury report, meaning he'll miss his ninth consecutive game to start the 2026 season and 13th straight game overall dating back to 2025.
Parsons tore his ACL and also needed a full meniscus repair last December. Because Parsons hadn't performed football activities in roughly 11 months, the Packers are planning to ramp him up over the next three weeks, advancing him from individual drills during the first week to team periods next week.
The Packers play the Minnesota Vikings at Lambeau Field next Sunday, but Parsons is not expected to play. The tentative timeline is for Parsons to return to the field when the Packers face the Los Angeles Rams on Wednesday, Nov. 25, which would mark exactly 21 days since he started practicing.
The Packers and Patriots are scheduled for a 3:25 p.m. CT kickoff from Gillette Stadium on Sunday. Lukas Van Ness, Dani Dennis-Sutton, Brenton Cox and Barryn Sorrell are the team's top edge rushers until Parsons returns.
