Lions rest several starters at practice ahead of Vikings matchup
Yahoo Sports
ALLEN PARK — The Detroit Lions had several starters missing from practice on Wednesday, Oct. 28, as coach Dan Campbell tried to get players "off their feet" ahead of a pivotal division game against the Minnesota Vikings at Ford Field this week.
Running back Jahmyr Gibbs, wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, offensive tackle Penei Sewell and defensive linemen Tyleik Williams, Aidan Hutchinson, Alim McNeill and DJ Wonnum were all absent from the field during the portion of practice accessible to the media.
The four defensive linemen were seen running into the facility as media arrived.
St. Brown was the only player who was truly expected not to be at practice, as he deals with an ankle injury sustained in a 20-17 win over the Green Bay Packers .
Two notable players who were present: safety Kerby Joseph and cornerback Ennis Rakestraw. Joseph (knee) practiced for the first time this season, while Rakestraw (ankle) was not expected to practice until Thursday.
