‘Out of touch’ – Fans call out Skip Bayless for ‘dumb’ Caleb Williams take

Skip Bayless has been questioned by some fans after what he recently stated about Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams. The Bears kicked off Week 7 of the 2026/27 NFL season with a 30-24 win over the New England Patriots. Williams threw for 308 yards and 2 touchdowns in the victory but despite what many probably think was a good display, Bayless took to X/Twitter to claim: “I saw old, bad Caleb last night.” But that statement has not gone down well with a number of fans, who have replied to his tweet to call Bayless out. One commented: “How dumb, Skip. He looked incredible last night.” Another suggested: “He’s looking for engagement. Needs a Twitter check.” A third wrote: “I almost respect the trolling. I don’t, but I almost do.” A fourth asked: “Is everything for clicks and comments? Well here you go I guess,” with another tweeting: “Coming from a guy who still believes in the Cowboys, little to no credibility left.” “If you didn’t see how great Caleb was, what they say is true… Skip is out of touch and doesn’t know his sports,” suggested a sixth fan on X . But while Bayless may not be sold on the Bears star, Stephen A. Smith recently shared his view that Williams will win a Super Bowl ‘some day’.
