Green Bay Packers offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich wants an end to the uncertainty surrounding left guard Aaron Banks’ recovery before a Week 7 road matchup against the Detroit Lions.
Stenavich addressed Banks’ availability on Tuesday after the lineman remained sidelined despite returning to practice. The coordinator acknowledged encouraging progress but emphasized the need for Banks to return healthy and maintain consistent play.
Banks’ absence has left the Packers awaiting clarity at left guard as they prepare for another divisional opponent.

The Athletic’s Matt Schneidman shared Stenavich’s comments on X, formerly Twitter, describing the cycle of apparent progress followed by continued unavailability. Stenavich also expressed his desire to get Banks back on the field.
“We’d love to have him back out there.”
Banks’ recent injury reports illustrate the prolonged wait.
Green Bay ruled him out against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 4 with knee and toe injuries. He returned to limited practice Friday before Week 5 against the Chicago Bears, but the Packers designated him doubtful.
Banks missed the Packers’ Week 6, 23-13 win over the Dallas Cowboys after entering the contest with a questionable designation.
His practice participation therefore has not yet translated into a return to competition.
Stenavich’s comments reflected both that uncertainty and optimism about the sixth-year NFL veteran’s recent progress. The coordinator wanted the guard healthy enough to play consistently, rather than continue moving between apparent readiness and unavailability.
As of Wednesday, the team’s Week 7 injury-report page displayed no player designations. Banks’ availability against the Lions remained unresolved, without a confirmed return date.
