England have run out of road in Pakistan, though not for lack of chances. Harry Brook’s side meet Sri Lanka at the Gaddafi Stadium on Thursday 29 October (1.30pm IST) bottom of the Pakistan ODI Tri-Series with three defeats from three, two of them from positions from no team in ODI history had lost.
They had Sri Lanka 24 for 2 chasing 430 in Rawalpindi and lost by two wickets. Days later they had Pakistan 154 for 9 chasing 242 in Lahore and lost again.
Sri Lanka are already through to Saturday’s final. Dilshan Madushanka’s left-arm seam bowled Pakistan out for 110 on Tuesday and they won by eight wickets.
Sri Lanka vs England prediction, who will win?
Sri Lanka have the form but England have more incentive to win this game as they look to end the losing streak in Pakistan. With a final to prepare for, Kusal Mendis hinted at couple of changes, with Dushmantha Chameera, Maheesh Theekshana and Sachindu Colombage waiting in the wings.
England have played better than the table says. They have been without Jofra Archer (rested), Jacob Bethell (knee) and Jos Buttler (hamstring). Their problem is finishing, and the bowling has leaked runs in the closing overs. Henry Crocombe took confidence from his debut on Sunday even though he was expensive. A win would lift the mood before the three-match series in Australia next month.

Sri Lanka vs England pitch report, 6th ODI, Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore
Low scores have been the theme in Lahore this year, though 300 was regularly breached at last year’s Champions Trophy. Lahore could be in for a warm afternoon, with temperatures forecast to reach 30 degrees and no threat of rain. Seamers may find some movement with the new ball and spinners should have a role in the middle overs. Sides batting first have struggled, so most captains will want to bowl.
